The Super Silt Fence is a sturdy temporary barrier that controls sediment runoff and litter in construction areas. It helps prevent stormwater pollution and reduces environmental damage by stopping silt from entering rivers, drains, and sensitive areas, while still allowing water to flow through during construction.

The silt barrier Bunnings is crafted from black or green non-biodegradable woven polypropylene fabric filter cloth. It is UV stable and works well in a pH range of 2 to 13.

Super silt fences come with chain link, hog wire, or welded wire backing and are available in popular sizes like 3'X100', 3'X110', and 3'X330'. The wire is hot-dipped galvanized for durability. Custom printing, colors, and geotextiles are available in various commercial and DOT styles.

2. Wire Backed Silt Fence With Metal Post

Wire-backed silt fences feature a three-foot high wire scrim covered with a woven polypropylene filter fabric. The galvanized steel scrim supports the fabric in an upright position, even under substantial loads of silt and water. A fabric apron that extends beyond the wire is available to help secure the fence and prevent erosion, making this design innovative and cost-effective.

5. Super Silt Fence Installation

Silt fences can be used with wooden stakes, tomato stakes, pegs, or star pickets for support.

Installation Instructions:

Dig a 200-300mm deep trench along the perimeter of the construction area.
Position the silt fence into the trench and backfill to create a 600mm high fence.
Install steel T or Y posts with caps every 2m (if using soft wire), 4m (with high tensile wire), or 10ft for hardwood posts. This method will also assist with slope drain applications.
